HISPANIC HERITAGE  MERCHANDISE
Collaborating with The University of Arizona's Trademark's and Merchandising Department, I crafted a series of designs inspired by Hispanic Heritage Month. As a Mexican American, this project allowed me to not only speak for my community but apply cultural storytelling to illustration.
The folk dances from different Hispanic countries hold unique rhythms and steps but places dance and celebration at the center of ceremonies and preserving culture. This quality creates an even playing field that all Hispanic cultures can use to better understand one another.
The second design for merch is an emblem of Hispanic culture. Diversity, Heritage, and Family are pillars within Hispanic culture and unite all our countries. Various skin colors, fashions, and ages are included in this emblem to emulate what my neighborhood looked like growing up and how many Hispanic barrios look.
